A Hooke's Law apparatus is a laboratory tool used to demonstrate and investigate the relationship between the force applied to a spring and the resulting extension or compression of the spring, as defined by Hooke's Law.

This apparatus typically consists of a vertical support rod, a spring, a scale or ruler for measuring extension, and weights to apply different forces.

Components:

It consists of a wooden base with brass blocks, fitted with 4 mm socket terminals and a 100 cm wooden scale. A knife edge jockey is also supplied.

The inclined plane consists of a polished wooden board.  

The board is attached to a base that is adjustable, allowing it to be fixed at various angles to study different slopes.
It is used to find the downward force, along an inclined plane, acting on a roller due to gravity and study its relationship with the angle of inclination by plotting graph between force and sin θ.

This Hoffmann Voltameter is made from high-quality borosilicate glass, ensuring excellent chemical resistance, thermal stability, and long service life. It is specially designed for educational and laboratory use to demonstrate the decomposition of water, determine chemical composition by electrolysis, and evaluate the electrochemical equivalent of hydrogen.

The unit consists of two connected graduated limbs, each having a 50 cm³ capacity, integrally connected to a central reservoir tube with a funnel-shaped bulb. Each limb is fitted with a precision glass stopcock at the top for accurate gas collection and control. The reservoir has a generous capacity of 200 cm³, allowing smooth and continuous operation during experiments.

The apparatus is supplied with one pair of platinum electrodes and one pair of carbon electrodes. Platinum electrodes are used for the electrolysis of water, while carbon electrodes are suitable for electrolysis of ammonia or hydrochloric acid, making the unit versatile for multiple demonstrations.

• Reaction time is also known as physiological time. It refers to the time taken by an organism to elicit a response to a stimulus. The speed with which the organism responds to a stimulus is R.T.

• This process can be measured in milli secs. Using a chronoscope. Reaction time is also known as the time that lapses between the stimulus and the response.

• This lapse of time is due to message transmission by the receptor nerves to the higher brain centers and dispatches of signals from these brain centers to the motor Porgans to respond.

• R.T. varies from organism to organism and depends on nature of stimulus such as intensity, length of presentation, attitude etc. To establish this phenomenon R.T. apparatus is used.
