Junkers Gas Calorimeter PSAW This gas calorimeter is of non-recording and flow type and is used for the determination of calorific value (heat value) of combustible gases. This design is based on the widely practiced junker's principle of burning a known amount of gas and transferring the resultant heat to a continously flowing stream of water and measuring the volume of the gas, amount of flowing water and rise in temperature and finally equating the heat gained by the flowing water to the heat input of the burnt gas. The calorimeter mainly consists mainly consists of gas combustion chamber, heat exchanger and water flow system. Gas flow meter is of rotary and wet type with a capacity of 2.5ltrs./rev. The meter is used for under pressure conditions not exceeding 8" water column. The dial is graduated with the smallest division of 0.02 ltr. and has an accuracy of 0.5% of full scale. The pressure governor is to regulated the pressure of the gas before it enters the flow meter. Supplied with beam balance on knife edge, counter balance shot tube inlet union and outlet nosecock.
